Man arrested for aggravated assault
Statesboro Police arrested a man they said shoved another man's head into a truck at a University Plaza location, causing injury.  Capt. L. C. Williams said Christopher Malautea, 24, Woodlands Apartments, was charged with aggravated battery after he shoved the victim's head into a truck, "causing extensive damage to his jaw and teeth." Det. Ken Scott opened an investigation and after witnesses identified Malautea, he turned himself in, Williams said. He was taken to the Bulloch County Jail to await bond.

Two men and a woman charged with shoplifting
Two men and a woman face felony shoplifting charges after Belk employees caught them with $914 worth of clothing for which they did not pay, said Statesboro Police Capt. L.C. Williams. Officer Antoinette Harris and Det. Ken Scott met with the Belk employees Thursday, who detained two of the suspects -Antonio James Patrick, 21, Burton's Ferry Highway, Sylvania; and Kimberly Patrice Scott , 19, Sagebrush Apartments.
    The third suspect, Darius Manquel Jordan, 20, Players Club Apartments, fled after pushing a store employee, but Scott located him in the a parking lot on Gentilly Road and placed him under arrest. All three were charged with felony shoplifting, and Jordan was also charged with simple battery, Williams said.
