Bulloch County Sheriff's investigators are seeking a man they said robbed a local convenience store early Tuesday morning.
The man entered the Mighty Mike's Hot Stop #8 on U.S. 80 East near the Grove Lakes subdivision around 5:15 a.m. Tuesday and bought a cup of coffee, said Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson.
About an hour and a half later, the suspect returned, he said.
"He approached the victim (store clerk) and indicated he had a gun," he said. "He demanded money. When he received the small amount of cash that was in the register, he left on foot."
Investigators called for assistance from the Georgia State Prison K-9 tracking unit, but " a search of the area by the dogs and deputies failed to locate the suspect," Anderson said.
He did no disclose the amount of cash  taken. No one was injured in the incident, he said.
The suspect, a black male between 25 and 40 years old, is described as being dark skinned, smooth shaven, and standing around 6 feet tall, he said. The suspect weighs around 215 pounds and was wearing a navy blue fleece hoodie jacket, blue jeans, work boots and gloves, he said.
"Anyone having any information regarding this crime should call Bulloch County Sheriff's Investigator Jason Long at 764-1747 or 764-8888," he said.
