Four people were arrested on drug charges last week after Bulloch County Drug Suppression Team agents found seven ounces of marijuana in their home.
An anonymous tip, information from an informant and an undercover officer making purchases of marijuana from the suspects resulted in enough evidence for the arrests, said BCDST Inv. Marcus Nesmith.
Drug agents, Statesboro Police and Bulloch County Sheriff deputies raided the Forest Way home in the Edgewood Acres subdivision, armed with a search warrant, he said.
Deputies arrested William Foster Ward, 23, and Matthew Paul Dougherty, 22, both of Forest Way, on charges of sales of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Alexander Tabor Martin, 23, was charged with marijuana possession with intent to distribute, and Matthew Meeks, 23, was charged with sale of marijuana. Both Martin and Meeks were also of a Forest Way address.
Officers executed two search warrants at two homes on the street, seizing seven ounces of marijuana and an assortment of drug paraphernalia, Nesmith said.
After receiving the tip, an informant assisted in an undercover officer making marijuana purchases from some of the suspects, he said.
The suspects were taken to the Bulloch County Jail, where they later posted bond.
