It certainly isn't uncommon to see a business close its doors these days, and it isn't something that I enjoy reporting, but a few people have contacted the Herald saddened by the closing of the Trellis Garden Inn in downtown Statesboro. Formerly known as Aldred's Trellis Garden Inn, the downtown Statesboro landmark will cease operation as of Wednesday, and the discernment process will begin about the property's future use. Located on the corner of South Main Street and Bulloch Street, the hotel is situated next to its owner, the Statesboro First United Methodist Church.
