City Council meets Tuesday at Statesboro High
City Statesboro logo

Tuesday's 9 a.m. Statesboro City Council meeting is a regular meeting in the sense of the timing, but it is being held at an unusual location, the Statesboro High School auditorium.

Almost all council meetings are held at City Hall. In earlier years, a meeting occasionally was held at a school or college campus, and council members wanted to resume this practice. The agenda includes recognition of police officers who received annual awards during 2015, presentation of some other city employee awards, and updates on the city manager search and the storm water management program. Contracts are slated to be awarded for street repairs, continued purchase of wireless water meters and installation of a slurry system at the wastewater treatment plant.
