Statesboro police are still seeking a suspect who shot and injured a man Wednesday at a Butler Homes apartment.

Information about the suspect, as well as the victim’s identity, was not available Thursday, said Madison Warren, Statesboro police community information specialist.

Police and Bulloch County Sheriff’s deputies swarmed the area around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, after the male victim was shot in the abdomen. Warren said Thursday the victim was stable, but detectives had not been able to question him until Thursday. Officers, deputies and K9 units searched the areas around Johnson Street and West Jones Avenue, but no suspect was found. Statesboro Police Chief Mike Broadhead said the suspect may have fled the area in a vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Statesboro Police Department at (912) 764-9911.
