Nancy Bryant, executive director of Ogeechee Area Hospice, was appointed to the Georgia Hospice and Palliative Care Organization's Board of Directors (GHPCO).
A major purpose of GHPCO is to promote the use of best practice standards by hospice agencies in the State of Georgia. This is accomplished through its educational programs and providing information resources to hospice providers and the public.
GHPCO also has a major role in policy advocacy in order to impact regulations and/or legislation that might positively or negatively impact the ability to provide or receive hospice care.
As a board member Bryant will be active on the legislative committee. The 14-member GHPCO Board is comprised of 14 administrators from hospice and palliative care provider organizations around the state.
Bryant is the founding executive director of Ogeechee Area Hospice.
"I am honored by this appointment," she said. "Ogeechee Area Hospice has become known for being a very progressive agency in regard to excellent care, organizational management and policy advocacy. Now I look forward to working with the GHPCO board of directors in their continued effort to facilitate excellent end-of-life care for our citizens in Georgia."
