A body was found at a Statesboro home on Thanksgiving morning, but police do not suspect foul play.

At 11:22 a.m. Thursday, Statesboro police and Bulloch EMS were dispatched to a home in the 100 block of Church Street in reference to a possible deceased person, Statesboro Public Safety Director Wendell Turner said in a new release issued Monday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Chris Laron Sneed, 39. Detective Sgt. James Winskey responded to the scene and conducted an investigation.

Maj. Scott Brunson said neighbors checked on Sneed and found him deceased.

The body of the deceased was removed from the home by Deputy Corner Chuck Francis and transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab for an autopsy.

The cause of death has not yet been determined and is pending the completion of toxicology results. However, no suspicious circumstances have been determined at the present time, Turner said.
