Georgia law requires all boaters born on or after Jan. 1, 1998, to take a boating education course before operating a motorized vessel on the state's waters. This requirement is an effort to educate boaters and increase safety awareness. Persons needing to meet these requirements can take online courses or a classroom course offered by conservation officers at select locations around the state.
