Marijuana, a gun and a stolen purse were found Thursday morning when police, acting on a tip, searched a Montego Way home.
Milton Kendrick, 22, who lives in the home, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, Statesboro Public Safety Director Wendell Turner said.
An anonymous tip launched an investigation that culminated in a search warrant being executed around 6:45 a.m. Thursday. Officers from the Statesboro Police Department Crime Suppression Unit and Emergency Response Team "recovered approximately half a pound of marijuana, a large amount of cash, and a firearm," he said. 
Detective Kyle Briley, who led the investigation, said the marijuana has a street value estimated at $8,300.
Also, a purse found in a vacant bedroom in Kendrick's home was found to have been reported stolen in September, Turner said. Charges regarding that discovery are pending.
