If you saw “Smoke on the Mountain,” then you probably will enjoy the sequel: “A Sanders’ Family Christmas.”
The family show for the holidays is a fun musical Friday at the Emma Kelly Theater at 7:30 p.m.
It's Christmas Eve, 1941, and Rev. Oglethorpe has invited the Sanders family to the church to sing and enjoy fellowship of one another. They are getting the congregation in the holiday spirit before the boys, including one of the Sanders' own, are shipped off to World War II.
More than two dozen Christmas carols, many of them vintage hymns, and hilarious yuletide stories from the Sanders family keep the audience laughing, clapping and singing along with bluegrass Christmas favorites. The show updates the audience that's curious how the characters from “Smoke on the Mountain” have been getting along.
“A Sanders’ Family Christmas” is sponsored by Park Avenue Bank. Tickets can be purchased by calling (912) 212-2787, or by visiting the box office located in the lobby of the Emma Kelly Theater. The box office is open from Tues.-Fri. from 1-5:30 p.m. Tickets are $26 for adults and $10 for youth 12 and under.
