A second man has been arrested in connection with a July 16 incident in which a man was robbed of his cellphone and shoes, police said. Bennie Lee Simmons Jr., 30, of Fort Valley, was arrested Wednesday by the Peach County Sheriff’s Office on a Statesboro Police Department warrant charging him with strong arm robbery and aggravated battery, Statesboro Public Safety Director Wendell Turner said in a news release issued Friday. Reginald Lamar Gordon, 22, of Lanier Drive, was arrested July 30 on the same charges.
