A man already in prison for parole violation, awaiting court procedures for charges in three burglaries in downtown Statesboro, also faces several child sex offense charges, said Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson.
Reginald Fleming, 45, Dawne Drive, is charged with rape, aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy, enticing a child for indecent purposes, solicitation of sodomy, child molestation, statutory rape and incest, he said.
And those are only charges in Bulloch County; Fleming faces charges in Pennsylvania as well, stemming from alleged acts against the same victim — his 9-year-old stepdaughter, he said.
After the family moved to Pennsylvania, the victim and her sister, who is a witness, began talking about incidents that led to the charges, he said. The incidents in Bulloch County took place between Jan. 2006 and March 2008,at a Groover Lane location, Anderson said.
He threatened the victim with violence if she told anyone, he said.
The victim's family members reported the incidents to law enforcement in Polk County, PA Jan. 1, 2010, he said.
Fleming, who is in the Bulloch County Jail for court regarding the September, 2009 burglaries of On Time Fashions, Quik Connect Wireless and Kentucky Fried Chicken, was also serving a prison sentence for parole violation stemming from entering auto charges, he said.     While in jail, he was charged with the Bulloch County sex offenses.
Police believe Fleming threw a brick through the glass at On Time Fashions on North Main Street, then snatched a cash register and money.
At Quik-Connect Wireless on South Main Street and Red Light Tobacco on  Mulberry Street, the offender broke in through a door and did the same.
After his arrest in September, Fleming was taken to the Bulloch County Jail, held on the burglary charge as well as a warrant for his arrests from the State Board of Pardons and Paroles, according to Statesboro Police Chief Stan York.
According to the Georgia Department of Corrections Web site (www.dcor.state.ga.us), Fleming was paroled in July and was jailed again after an entering auto charge.
Also known as Suboom Fleming and other variations of his actual name, Fleming's most recent convictions include burglary, entering auto and obstruction convictions in Washington County from incidents occurring in June, 20, according to the website.
He also has a past record with Bulloch County, with traffic charges, DUI, cocaine possession, theft by receiving stolen property, escape, forgery, simple battery and several burglary charges. He also has a burglary conviction in Dekalb County.
Fleming has served eight terms in jail or prison since 1988, according to the web site.
Bulloch County Sheriff's Inv. Bill Black is handling the child sex offenses investigation, Anderson said.
