One of two men suspected in a March 30 aggravated assault was captured Tuesday. The other, however, still remains at  large, said Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson.
Jason Ladelle Clees, 31, Union Street, Newington, is behind bars, held without bond on charges of aggravated assault and burglary, he said. Clees was captured in Effingham County.
Sheriff's Investigator Jared Akins, lead investigator in the case, still seeks  Robert Lee Carnes, 27, Prosser Road, who faces the same charges, he said.
Anderson said the two men beat Ricky Brogdon, 43, Old River Road, with a board during the home invasion attack at a Mike Brannen Road residence March 30 .
Brogdon  suffered a broken rib and a punctured lung during the attack,  he said.
Both Brogdon and his girlfriend, who witnessed the attack, positively identified the offenders, and said Clees and Carnes used “a board of some kind” in the attack, and caused injury severe enough to have Bulloch County Emergency Medical Service (EMS) respond to the scene and transport Brogdon to East Georgia Regional Medial Center, Anderson said.
The burglary charges each suspect faces stem from the suspects’ breaking into the Mike Brannen Road home where the attack occurred, he said.
Anyone with information regarding Carnes' whereabouts is asked to contact Akins at 764-1789 or 764-8888.
