Friends and relatives of Don and Jan Whaley of Statesboro are invited to join the couple in celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary with a reception from 3 until 4:30 p.m. on July 10th in the Averitt Room of First Baptist Church Statesboro. The couple was married on June 4, 1961, in the Twitty Chapel of First Baptist Church of Brunswick, Ga. The celebration is hosted by their children, Donna and her husband, Craig Nesmith, of Oakville, Ontario, Canada, Karen and her husband, Ben Laurence Ragan, of Marietta, Ga., and daughter-in-law, Gayla Perry Whaley of Buford, Ga., wife of Ken Whaley (deceased). They are the proud grandparents of seven grandchildren, Steven and Mallory Nesmith, Drew, Grant and Jacob Whaley, and Luke and Cameron Ragan.
