Amanda Kay Smith Kenneth Lee Knight

    Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie W. Smith of Statesboro, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Kay Smith of Statesboro, to Kenneth Lee Knight, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rusty Williams and Mr. Jimmy Knight.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Keel and the late Mr. and Mrs. Delmas "Goody" Smith. She is the great-granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lester Fordham and the late Mrs. Grady Keel and the late Mr. and Mrs. Luther Lancaster and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ward Smith. Amanda is a 2006 graduate of Portal High School and received a Business Office Technology degree in 2009 from Ogeechee Technical College. She has been employed with the Bulloch County Clerk of Court as a deputy clerk since 2005.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Pye and Mrs. Karin Williams and the late Mr. Jimmy Williams Sr. He is the great-grandson of Mrs. Frances Waters and the late Jimmy Waters and the late Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Lanier, the late Ms. Shirly Knight and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Hagan. A 2004 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School, Kenneth received a Forestry degree in 006 from Ogeechee Technical College. He has been employed at Fort Stewart in the Forestry Department since 2006.
    The couple has planned to wed on October 2, 2010, at 3 p.m. at the Friendship Baptist Church.
    Local invitations have been sent. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.
