Mr. and Mrs. Charles David Sikes of Statesboro are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Sabrina Dawn, to John Russell Thornton IV, son of Mr. John Russell Thornton III and Mrs. Cynthia Wickenheiser of Baltimore, Maryland.
    Sabrina is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Lamar Floyd of Brunswick and the late Mr. and Mrs. John David Sikes of Metter. Sabrina is a 2001 National Honor Society graduate of Statesboro High School and a magna cum laude graduate of the Florida State University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre in 2005.  She is a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. She worked abroad in London for a year before moving to Los Angeles, Calif., where she is the associate director of Development for Cornerstone Theater Company.
    John is the grandson of Mr. Allen Woods and Mrs. Carol Koppelman of Maryland and the late Mr. John Russell Thornton Jr. of Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. Margaret Martin of Summerfield, Florida. John is a 1999 graduate of C. Milton Wright High School of Baltimore, Maryland, and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 2007. He lives in Los Angeles, Calif., and is Development and Communications manager for New Horizons.
    Sabrina and John are planning an intimate wedding ceremony on April 30th on St. Simons Island.
