Joe and Susan Shryock

Friday evening, June 24th, Joe and Susan Shryock celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Whitestone Wedding Chapel in Marshfield, Missouri, in the heart of the Ozarks. They renewed their wedding vows before 50 friends and family. The ceremony was performed by Matthew Shryock, third son of the Shryocks. Candles were lit during the ceremony by each son attending. A special celebration of music, a picture program, dinner and toasts was held in the reception hall after the ceremony. The Shryocks have five sons, Andrew Shryock and his family, Sally and Eleanor, of Ann Arbor, Michigan; Aaron Shryock and his family, Susan, Rebecca, Ruth and Rachel, serving in Cameroon, Africa; Matthew Shryock and his family, Wanda and Jacob, of Waynesboro, Ga.; Nathan Shryock and his family, Victoria, Michelle, Ale and Mac, of Alpharetta, Ga.; and Benjamin Shryock and his family, Danielle and Joseph, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Joe and Susan Shryock have lived in Statesboro for 34 years and have raised their sons in this community. They are moving back to Missouri in August. Susan is retiring from Georgia Southern University after 24 years, and Joe will be working at Ozarks Medical Center as a mental health therapist. They will reside in their hometown of Willow Springs, Mo., where the couple was married on June 21st, 1961.
