Laura Leigh Roesel John Kent Brannen

       Ms. Pamela Yates Roesel and Mr. Philip Keith Roesel of Statesboro are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Leigh, to John Kent Brannen, son of Mrs. Suzanne Askew Brannen and the late Mr. Sam Leonard Brannen of Statesboro.
       The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. Albert Julius Roesel and the late Mrs. Tappy Roesel of Statesboro and Mrs. Sybil Yates and the late Mr. Joe Cephus Yates of Moultrie. A 2004 honor graduate of Statesboro High School, Laura attended Valdosta State University, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha. In 2008, she graduated from the Langdale College of Business at Valdosta State University, with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing. She is currently employed as a service coordinator at H. A. Sack Company in Statesboro.
       The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. Sam Leo Brannen and Mrs. Kathleen Kent Brannen of Statesboro and the late Mr. Walter Scott Askew Jr. and Mrs. Susie Gaines Askew of Atlanta. A 1996 graduate of Statesboro High School, Kent graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2001, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and earned his Master of Arts there in 2006. He is currently employed as a teacher at Southeast Bulloch High School in Brooklet.
       The wedding is planned for Saturday, February 12, 2011, at 5 p.m. at Statesboro First United Methodist Church.
