Mr. Lindsey Meeks of Pensacola, Fla., and Dr. and Mrs. Dennis Harden of Phenix City, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Julie Rachelle Meeks of Phenix City, Ala., to David Morgan Mallard of Phenix City, Ala., son of Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Mallard of Brooklet, Ga.
       The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Loey Wassam and the late Eloise Wassam of Mobile, Ala., and Mr. Morris Meeks and the late Pat Meeks of Mobile, Ala. She graduated in 2006 from Smiths Station High School in Smiths, Ala., and from Southern Union State Community College in 2010 with a degree in Radiologic Technology. She is currently working at Pediatric Acute Care in Columbus, Ga., as a radiologic technologist.
       The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Mallard of Brooklet and the late Mr. and Mrs. Warren Morgan of Brooklet. He is a 2001 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and a 2006 graduate of the University of Georgia, with a degree in Wildlife Biology. He is currently employed at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga., as a wildlife biologist.
       The couple has planned to wed on May 7th at 6 p.m. at Fountainview Mansion in Auburn, Ala.
