Mr. and Mrs. Timothy D. Marks of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Grant Marks of Statesboro, to Jonathan Vines, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Bruce Vines.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Marks and Mr. and Mrs. Lawton E. Samples. Katie is a 2000 graduate of Statesboro High School and is a 2004 graduate of Georgia Southern University, with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. She is a 2008 graduate of Nova Southeastern University, with a Master's degree in Elementary Education, and is currently employed by the Forsyth County Board of Education as a kindergarten teacher at Sawnee Elementary School.
    The groom-elect is a 1998 graduate of Colquitt County High School and is a 2004 graduate of the University of Georgia, with a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture. He is currently employed as facilities director for the Housing Authority of the City of Moultrie.
    The couple has planned to wed on October 2, 2010, at 6 p.m. at the Marks' family home.
