Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Large of Valdosta, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristen of Valdosta, to David Rushing of Morven, Ga., son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Whiddon of Morven and the late Mr. Dan Rushing Jr. of Statesboro.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Myrtle Large of Parker, Fla., and the late Mr. Coy Large and Mrs. Nellie McLemore of Gosnell, Ark., and the late Mr. JV McLemore. Kristen is a 2005 graduate of Georgia Southern with a Master of Business Administration. She is currently employed at Firth Rixson Forgings as a talent management supervisor in the field of human resources.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Rushing Sr. of Statesboro, the late Mr. and Mrs. George Whiddon of Ashburn, Ga., the late Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Capps of Ashburn and the late Mr. Robert Wadsworth of Pembroke, Ga. David is a 2009 graduate of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in diversified agriculture. He is currently employed as a buying point manager with Birdsong Peanuts.
    The couple plans to wed on April 26, 2014, at 5 p.m. at Quails Landing in Ashburn.
