Judge and Mrs. J. Lane Johnston of Statesboro, Georgia, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past Saturday, May 28, 2011. The couple was married on May 26, 1961. They have four children, Mary Day Johnston Widner (Ronnie) of Toccoa, Ga., Thornton Johnston (Judy) of Athens, Ga., Jan Johnston Moore (Bill) of Statesboro and Jim Johnston of Savannah. The couple was honored at a luncheon given by their children at the Forest Heights Country Club. Judge and Mrs. Johnston have seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
