The families of Kelsey Claire Hood and Hunter Keith McCullough are pleased to announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
The couple met in 2000 as students in first grade at Tiftarea Academy and began dating as high school sophomores.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Hood of Chula and the granddaughter of James and Myrna Hood of Statesboro and the late Julian and Elizabeth Savelle of Ochlocknee. She is a 2012 graduate of Tift County High School and a 2016 graduate of Georgia College and State University, where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration in management and marketing. She is currently enrolled in the master of public administration program at GCSU and is employed as director of development at Gatewood School in Eatonton. She plans to pursue a career in the nonprofit sector.
The future groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Richard McCullough of Tifton and the late Scott Taylor of Fitzgerald. He is the grandson of Christine Rutherford and the late Tim Rutherford and Etta Taylor and the late Lee Taylor, all of Fitzgerald. He is a 2012 graduate of Tiftarea Academy and will receive a Bachelor of Science in psychology with a minor in sociology from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro in May. He completed an internship and is currently employed as a mental health worker at Pineland Impact Clubhouse in Statesboro. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue a career in substance abuse counseling.
The wedding celebration is planned for Saturday, June 24, at Highgrove Farm in Valdosta, Georgia, with the marriage ceremony in Highgrove's outdoor chapel.
