Yogesh and Priyanka Gupta of Vadodara, Gujarat, India, announce the engagement of their daughter, Riya Gupta, to Patrick Riley, son of Drs. Thad and Susan Riley of Statesboro.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of M.O. Gupta and Sushila Gupta of Vadodara, Gujarat, India, and R.K. Kanoongo and Sarla Kanoongo of Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. Riya received her bachelor’s degree in architecture from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2019, where she was also a part of the American Institute of Architecture Students, South Quad. Riya received her Master of Architecture from Virginia Tech in May 2021, where she graduated magna cum laude. Riya will be working as an architectural associate with James W. Buckley & Associates Inc., in Savannah.
The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Edward and Barbara Braun of Statesboro and the late Thaddeus and Faye Riley of Swansea, South Carolina. Patrick received his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Georgia Southern University in 2016. He has been employed since graduation with Automation Systems and Controls Inc., located outside of Pooler, as a system control engineer. In this position, Patrick provides engineering support and design to manufacturing plants across the United States.
The couple has planned an Indian-style ceremony for October 14 in Savannah and will then wed at First Methodist Church in Statesboro on Oct. 16, 2021, with the reception following at the Botanic Gardens.

The couple will reside in Pooler after the wedding.
