Ms. Martha Hughes of Statesboro announces the engagement of her daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Goss of Stone Mountain, Ga., to Michael Anthony Cardinal of Stone Mountain, son of Paul Cardinal and the late Mary Elizabeth Cardinal.
    The bride-elect is also the daughter of the late Marvin Goss. She is the granddaughter of Arlene Grogan Hughes of Stone Mountain and the late Leon Hughes and Roy and Annie Goss of Marietta, Ga. Sarah is a 2009 graduate of Georgia Southern University, with a BA in anthropology and a BS in nursing. She is currently pursuing an MA in anthropology at Georgia State University and is employed as an RN in the Behavioral Health Unit of Atlanta Medical Center.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Mary Lou Northcutt of Big Canoe, Ga., and the late Robert Northcutt and Barbara Cardinal of Janesville, Wis., and the late Larry Cardinal. Michael is a 2009 graduate of Georgia Southern University, with a BS in finance. He works in logistics in Atlanta.
    The couple plans to wed on June 14, 2014, at 4 p.m. on Tybee Island, Ga.
