Mr. and Mrs. Frank Byrd of Milledgeville, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebecca Byrd of Savannah, Ga., to Jonathan Gay, son of Mr. and Mrs. Randall Gay Jr. of Garfield, Ga.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Millard Wainwright, William Mullins and the late Leila Mullins and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Byrd. Rebecca is a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine and is board-certified in emergency medicine. She is employed by Georgia Emergency Associates as an ER physician.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Samuel and the late Marie McCullough of Portal, Ga., and Dorothy and the late Randall Gay Sr. of Garfield. Jonathan is a graduate of Middle Georgia College School of Nursing and is employed by East Georgia Regional Medical Center and St. Joseph's Hospital as an ER registered nurse.
    The couple has planned to wed on May 3, 2014, at 5 p.m. in Washington Square in Savannah.
