Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Craig Ellis of Metter, Georgia, and Mr. and Mrs. Aulbert Julian Brannen III of Statesboro, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Hadley Elizabeth Brannen, to James Edward Boyett of Portal, Ga., son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Boyett.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Cowan and the late Charles Finch Jr. of Portal, Mrs. Teresa Brannen and the late Aulbert J. Brannen Jr. of Statesboro and Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Ellis of Metter. She is a 2007 graduate of Metter High School and a 2009 graduate of Ogeechee Technical College, with a  Pharmacy Technician degree. She is currently employed at the St. Joseph's Candler Hospital in Savannah.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Mallard of Portal and Mr. and Mrs. James "Skeet" Boyett of Statesboro. He is a 2007 graduate of Portal High School and is currently employed at Tillman & Deal Ag Services in Statesboro.
    The couple has planned to wed on Saturday, May 5th, at 4 p.m. at Oak Grove Southern Baptist Church
in Portal. A reception will immediately follow in the social hall of the church.
