Franklin and Linda Akins of Register plan to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Sunday, July 10th, 2011, with a reception to be held from 3 until 5 p.m. at their home on 301 South. The couple was married July 9, 1961, at the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder T. Roe Scott officiating. Their children are Tracy (Kathy) Akins of Register, Chris (Andrea) Akins of Register and Suzanne A. (Robin) Rushing of Statesboro. They have three grandchildren, Zachary, Samantha and Shelby Akins.
