Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Powell of Mabelvale, Ark., announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kristi Elaine Powell of Mabelvale, Ark., to Matthew Ein Sammons, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sammons Jr. of Register and Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Kirby of Wadley, Ga.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hunt of Greenwood, Ark., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Powell of Little Rock, Ark. She is a 2005 graduate of Bryant High School in Bryant, Ark., and is currently attending Pulaski Tech College and is employed at Easter Seals in Little Rock.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Linda B. Sammons of Register and the late Carl Sammons Sr. and Joyce Muirhead of North Augusta, S.C., and the late Van Tillman. He is also the grandson of Claude Perry of Grenada, Miss., Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mixon of Holcomb, Miss., and the great-grandson of Odylene Carroll of Grenada, Miss. He is a 2003 graduate of Statesboro High School and is currently enlisted in the United States Air Force, stationed in Little Rock, Ark.
    The couple has planned to wed on September 8, 2007, at 4:00 in the afternoon at Temple Baptist Church in Little Rock, Ark.
