Evan Amaral spent his high school days hoping and dreaming of being Bulloch Academy’s valedictorian for 2017.

    “I feel like it is a big honor,” he said. “I have been waiting my entire high school career for this.”

    English and art are his subjects of choice, but he enjoys all subjects and has worked hard to maintain grades that brought him to the top of his class.

    “I take academics very seriously,” he said.

    The son of Craig and Heather Amaral has a brother, Alton. He said he hopes to enroll at Emory University and get a degree in film studies.

    “I hope to write and direct films, and become a published writer,” he said.

    Like a sponge, Evan’s desire is to soak up as much education and experience he possibly can.

    “I want to study as much as I can, learn and experience world culture,” he said. When at home he enjoys cooking and especially loves making – and eating – pizza.

    When asked what he would like to tell students who are still in school and working towards their future, Evan said “Keep up hard work and always stick to being you.”
