Our community lost a great citizen this past week. Mr. Kemp Mabry left us on Thursday. From the somber atmosphere in the office, I know that he will really be missed around here. Editor Jim Healy shared a story on BlogSpace about his first meeting with Mabry. I wish I could have met him.
Welcome to all our new users on the Web site. We hope that you enjoy the BlogSpace, the Photo Gallery and the Community Calendar. Please use this link to the community to inform others of events going on at your church, club or civic organization.
Since the last Community Page, the Valentine’s Day Blog Contest Runner-up Elizabeth posted a blog to tell us about her Valentine’s Day with her daughter. She also attached a picture of her daughter and the gingerbread house in progress. See it on the BlogSpace.
A proud CheerSouth fan posted photos from a recent competition—awesome! I’m a former cheer mom, so I really enjoyed seeing those wonderful toe touches and scorpions.
Check them out on the Photo Gallery. Check out ALL the great photos on the gallery.
‰ Parents
We have the place for you! Post a blog about the wonderful child or children in your life at our Parenting/Brag Space. Create your free account and tell us what makes your child special. Also, post a picture. We want to see them! Just think how proud they will be to see their stories and pictures on the Web.
‰ Clubs & Organizations
You can use the blogs to inform Statesboro about your organization and its mission. Let the community know how they can be involved. Also, post your events on the Community Calendar. You can create albums on the Photo Gallery so everyone can see the great things you have going.
‰ Kidsville
Truman made his first appearance at the Feed the Mosasaur Festival at GSU. We had lots of fun there, and Truman enjoyed seeing all his friends. Truman will be making more appearances in the future. You never know where he will show up next!
Upcoming
In addition to the regular slate of events at Statesboro Regional Library, they will sponsor Meet the Author on Tuesday with Polly Stramm, author of SENTIMENTAL SAVANNAH. Stramm is a columnist for the Savannah Morning News. Don’t forget about the Georgia Southern Writing Project Writing Contest for students in Grades 1 – 12. The week ends with the Bulloch County Forestry Pageant on Saturday. Post your events on the Community Calendar.
    Make it a great week!
