Let freedom rain
Chyann Hoyle was among the musicians who played live music at Thursday's Firecracker Fest.

The Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department and Sea Island Bank presented the 2013 Firecracker Fest at Mill Creek Regional Park on Thursday.
The free event included games, live music and community exhibitions, as well as the traditional Frog-Jumping Contest, a  Baseball/Softball Skills Contest and the Subway Sub-Eating Contest. To celebrate Mill Creek Park's 20th birthday, several new events were added this year, including family games, a BMX show and the return of the greased pole.
Despite the rain and soggy conditions, many Bulloch County residents as well as visitors from surrounding counties gathered at the park to enjoy the festivities and fireworks show.
