Belcher celebrates 100th

Mrs. Elva Belcher celebrated her 100th Birthday on Saturday, September 20, 2008, with a luncheon at Forest Heights Country Club. Mrs. Belcher was born on September 17, 1908, at the home of her parents, Lawson and Ida Nesmith Anderson, in the Nevils Community. She was married to the late Robbie Belcher for over 50 years and lived most of her adult life on a farm near Leefield. The occasion was hosted by her children, Mary Alice Hodges of Winter Park, Fla., Sue and Ray Lanier of Cary, N.C., Helen and Pete Leonard of Mount Airy, N.C., and Aaron and Vicki Belcher of Pembroke, Ga. She has eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Approximately 100 family and friends attended the birthday celebration.
