Legendary University of Georgia football coach Vince Dooley will be in Statesboro for a book signing Tuesday from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the lobby of the main office at Sea Island Bank at 2 East Main Street.
Dooley will sell copies of his new book, "History and Reminiscences of the University of Georgia," for $45.
For 25 years as head football coach at UGA, and later serving as the school's athletics director, Dooley became one of the state's most beloved sports icons.
Dooley coached the Bulldogs to 201 victories, including a national championship in 1980. He retired from coaching in 1988, and remained at UGA as the A.D. until his retirement.
