    STILLMORE -- The Bulloch Academy Lady Gators opened their regular-season campaign Tuesday by run-ruling cross-county rival David Emanuel Academy 12-4 in five innings.

Madelyn Vickery went 2 2/3 innings for the win while Lauren Dennard came on in relief for the save. Leading hitters for Bulloch (1-0) were Taylor Collins (2-for-2) and Rachel Gilbert (2-for-3).

The Lady Gators take to the road today, traveling to Macon to face the Class AAA defending state champions, the Stratford Academy Eaglettes.

Bryan County defeated Ware County, 7-1, Wednesday in a combined no-hitter.
Tiffany Howard pitched 5 innings striking out eight Lady Gators with no runs scored. Makayla Peny pitched 2 innings and also gave up no runs.

Howard was 2-for-2 with 2 runs scored, while teammate Jerri Hines was 1-for-2 with a homerun. Rebecca Strickland was 2-for-3 with a double and 1 RBI.

The Lady Skins will travel to Nahunta for the Brantley County Tournament Friday and Saturday.
