Georgia Southern football player Dominique Swope was released from East Georgia Regional Medical Center late Monday night after collapsing just before 6 p.m. during practice.
Tests determined that Swope suffered a lower-body strain, GSU sports information director Barrett Gilham said during Tuesday's practice, which was delayed by lightning at 5:45 p.m.
Swope returned to practice Tuesday but the running back was held out of drills. His status is listed as day-to-day, Gilham said.
Swope, a rising sophomore from Buford, appeared to suffer an injury or cramp to his right hamstring, which he grabbed as he fell untouched to the ground Monday. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
