Richard Alyn “Champ” Ciesco
STATESBORO, Ga. -- Richard Alyn “Champ” Ciesco passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at the age of 84.
    Richard was born on September 8, 1934, in Whiting, Indiana. Throughout his life, he worked as a metallurgist in the steel industry for General Dynamics. In his spare time, he took pride in hunting and fishing with his sons, spending time with his good friends from the Fifty’s Club and walking at Mill Creek Park in Statesboro, Ga.
    He is preceded in death by his wife, Rita Ciesco.
    He is survived in love by his four children, Jeff (Karen) Ciesco, Tim (Janice) Ciesco, Gene Ciesco, Beth Ciesco; and his eight grandchildren along with his many nieces and nephews.
    All are welcome to celebrate Richard’s life during a visitation that will be held Monday, November 19, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro, Ga. A rosary service will be held at 5 p.m.
    The funeral mass will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 20, at 10 a.m. with Father Doug Clark officiating. He will be buried in Indiana.
    In lieu of flowers, the family requests to please make memorial contributions to Humane Society of Statesboro and Bulloch County, P.O. Box 581, Statesboro, GA 30459.
