STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Eugene Talmadge Rogers, age 83, died on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
The Collins, Ga., native worked on the family farm for many years before becoming a truck driver and worked for over 61 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Terrell Rogers and Lessie V. Rewis Rogers; his wife, Glenna Jean Roberts Rogers; his son, Terrell Eugene Rogers; his siblings, Willie Marilyn Tyson, Dorothy Dean Parkhurst, Ernest Rogers, Alberta Rogers and Annie Ruth Kangeter.
Surviving are sons, Allen (Sharman) Rogers of Pt. Wentworth, Carl Wayne (Julia) Rogers of Pt. Wentworth, Lonnie Gene (Cindy) Rogers of Quartzsite, Ariz.; and Jason Wade (Gennie) Rogers; a daughter, Robin Gaye Burch of Franklin, N.C.; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, three sisters, Christine Tuten, Bearnease Smith and Mary Helmey; and one brother, Coy Rogers.
A visitation will be held on Monday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home followed by a funeral in the chapel at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jody Bryant officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. at Anderson Cemetery in Collins, Ga.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
