STATESBORO, Ga. — Mrs. Sheryl Deloach Prowell, age 49, passed from this earthly life Friday, November 16, 2018, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center under the care of Regency Care Hospice, with her loving family at her bed side.

The Bulloch County native was the daughter of the late James and Irene Thompson Deloach and received her formal education in the public school system of Statesboro and Bulloch County, Georgia. She was a graduate of Portal High School, Class of 1987, and attended Troy State University, where received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. 

She was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, where she was active in the church choir and served as the youth choir director. She was employed by the Bulloch County Board of Education as a substitute teacher. She was also a soccer mom. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Corine Deloach.

She leaves her memories to be cherished by her loving children, DaLon Prowell and Malik Prowell, both of Valdosta, Ga.; Erinn Prowell, Aja Prowell and Taylor Prowell, all of Statesboro, Ga.; sisters, Mary Hall, Statesboro, Ga.; Ruby (Harvey) Williams, Portal, Ga.; and Ronnie Sue Flood, Statesboro, Ga.; brothers, Montie (Ivs) Deloach, Statesboro, Ga.; Larry (Laurie) Deloach, Millen, Ga.; Ben Deloach, Statesboro, Ga.; and Joe (Rosa) Deloach, Metter, Ga.; additional siblings, John Deloach, Lillie Mae Warren, Mary Alice Deloach, Burnell Craig and Arlean (Charles) Edwards, all of Miami, Fla.; four aunts; two uncles; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

The family will receive guests Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the mortuary. 

The funeral service for Mrs. Prowell will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018, at St. Paul Baptist Church, Register, Ga., with the Rev. Shun Newson, pastor, and the Rev. Stanford Anderson, officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
