REGISTER, Ga. -- Mrs. Marie Littleton Thigpen, age 62, died on Thursday, August 9, 2018, at her residence.
The Pembroke, Ga., native lived for most of her life in Bulloch County and was a homemaker.
She was well-known for her 14-layer chocolate cake and enjoyed cooking for everyone that would come to her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie David Littleton and Mary Fullmore Baker; two brothers, Willie Bowen and Jimmy Littleton; and a nephew, Jerry Dean Littleton.
Surviving are her husband of 28 years, Lamar Thigpen of Register; a brother, Randy (Lola) Littleton of Brooklet; a sister, Kathy Littleton of Brooklet; her children, Melissa (Thomas) Finch of Statesboro, Donald (Danae) Wilson Jr. of Eastman, Ga.; Felicia Oglesby of Portal, Ga.; Ronald (Kimberly) Wilson Sr. of Baltimore, Md.; Denise (Thomas) Grubbs of Register, Ga.; Willie (Heather) Wilson Sr. of Springfield, Ga.; and Ben Thigpen of Register, Ga.; 25 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
The visitation will be held on Sunday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Roberts officiating.
Pallbearers will be Craig Thigpen, Steve Thigpen, Hunter Aldrich, Cody Hodges, Lane Williams and Larry Collins.
Interment will be in Leefield-Corinth Cemetery.
