STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. William Henry "Bill" Griffin Jr., 68, passed from this earth Thursday, November 15, 2018.
    Bill was a resident of Harlem and Statesboro, Georgia.
    Bill was born to Mr. and Mrs. William H. Griffin Sr. of Harlem, Georgia, on August 13, 1950. Bill attended Georgia Southern University, where he met numerous longtime friends, many of whom were his brothers in the Theta Kappa chapter of the Sigma Nu Fraternity
    Bill entered a career in construction following his time at Georgia Southern University, working alongside his father, Bill Sr., at Griffin Carter Construction Company and Harlem Building Materials. He served on the Harlem Fire Department during that time, serving several years as chief.
    Upon moving to Statesboro, Bill worked alongside his longtime friend, Tony Fair, at Ag South III, Inc.
    He was also an original and lifelong member of the Housing Corporation of Theta Kappa Chapter of the Sigma Nu Fraternity at Georgia Southern University. He spent his latter years serving as a dedicated caregiver to his wife, Dianne.
    Survivors include his daughters, Jamie (Chris) Thompson, and their daughter, Bo Lee, of Statesboro, Georgia; and Jodie (Charley) Waters, and their children, Duvon Eason, Robert Lane, Tully Elease and James Henry of Millen, Georgia; and close friend, Anthony B. Fair of Statesboro, Georgia; as well as many friends who surrounded Bill as family over the years.
    The family will receive visitors on Sunday, November 18, 2018, from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro, Georgia.
    The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 4 p.m. at the Sigma Nu Fraternity House, 103 Olympic Boulevard, Statesboro, Georgia, with a reception to follow.
    The graveside service and burial will be held privately on Monday, November 19, 2018, in the family cemetery. The Reverend Brandon Jolley will officiate.
    Pallbearers will be Greg Bryson, Eric Deal, Wilkes Evans, David Pittman, Larry Sands and Kory Tokar.
    Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Sigma Nu Fraternity.
    In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to Sigma Nu Educational Foundation, Theta Kappa Heritage Trust Fund, P.O. Box 1869, Lexington, Virginia 24450.
