STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Robert Kevin Deal, age 41, died Tuesday, November 20, 2018, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Kevin was born in Metter, Georgia, and lived most of his life in Bulloch County. He was a 1995 graduate of Statesboro High School. Kevin worked with ITT Grinnell for three years and later became a post certified correctional officer. He was employed with the Bulloch County Work Camp for over 10 years, as a heavy equipment operator.
In February of 2018, Kevin began a new career with Ogeechee Steel, where he was a truck driver. During his career, Kevin established a reputation of being a dedicated employee with a strong work ethic and always dependable.
Kevin was a member of the Statesboro Bible Baptist Church.
He will always be remembered for his love and knowledge of history, especially Civil War facts. Kevin was the family resource for history and genealogy.
Above all, Kevin loved God and his country, but held his family close to his heart. He was a dedicated father, son, brother and grandson.
Surviving are his daughters, Katie Deal and Kayla Deal, both of Metter; Regan Deal of Portal; his parents, Doris Donaldson Deal and Carson Deal of Statesboro; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Amy and Ashley Alderman of Statesboro and Lindsey and Jeremy Glisson of Statesboro; and his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Donaldson, whom he truly adored. Many aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins also survive.
The funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Will Griffith officiating. Interment will be in the Donaldson Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Andy Donaldson, Adam Donaldson, Blake Deal, Lawson Deal, Dustin Marsh and Matt Marsh.
Honorary pallbearers will be his co-workers with Ogeechee Steel.
