STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Kelvin L. Mercer, age 40, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was a native of Bulloch County and employed with Allen's Custom Dry Wall, Sylvania, Georgia. He attended Statesboro High School.
Kelvin leaves a legacy of love to be cherished by his daughter, Shakeynah Hymes, Atlanta; his parents, Rosa Ann Mercer and Larry (Skye) Mercer, all of Statesboro; six sisters, Valarie Mercer, Brooke Mercer, Krystal Mercer, Lani Mercer, Kayla McMillan and Olivia Mercer, all of Statesboro; two brothers, Victor Mercer and Maurice Roberson, both of Statesboro; paternal grandfather, James King Jr., Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; maternal grandfather, Deacon James (the Reverend Sarah) Prince; and maternal grandmother, Lillie Bell Lundy, all of Statesboro; dedicated aunt, Dawn (Hollis) Mainer, Statesboro; cousins like brothers, Vance “Tee Tae” Key, Rod Lundy, Myron Eason, Devin Prince, Jeffery Paulk, Jeffery Eason, Tyron Lanier and Montrell Jones; godbrother, Jared Weaver; godsister, Samia Bulloch; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Mr. Mercer will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Miller Grove Baptist Church with the pastor, the Rev. Harry Tremble, as eulogist. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
