STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Jimmy Edward Hendrix, age 70, died Friday, December 14, 2018, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice inpatient facility in Statesboro.
    The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a 1966 graduate of Statesboro High School. Jimmy served in the Army National Guard 48th Armored Division.
    Jimmy owned and operated Hendrix Sports Shop for many years and was the former owner of Eagle Fence Company.
    His greatest joy was his family, who he loved beyond measure. He had a passion for being outdoors and enjoying his time spent fishing and hunting.
    Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, R.O. Hendrix Sr. and Betty Ray Stephens Hendrix; and a grandson, Christopher Ashley Lindsey.
    Surviving are three daughters and a son-in-law, Stephanie Hendrix Brunson, Kelly Hendrix McDonald (Wade Morgan) and Jimmi Hendrix Lindsey and Robert Lindsey, all of Statesboro; his grandchildren, Morgan Brunson, Preston Brunson, Zachery McDonald, Tysen McDonald, Michaela Morgan, Ryan Lindsey and Cole Lindsey; a great-grandson, Asher Aldrich; a sister, Betsy Hendrix Riner of Statesboro; and a brother, R.O. “Rufus” Hendrix Jr., and wife, Debbie, of Statesboro. Many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends also survive.
    The family will receive visitors on Sunday from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
    The funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Dr. John Waters officiating. Interment will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
    Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Will Riner, Dale Lanier and Glenn Nessmith.
    The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, GA 30459.
