Marie Martin Bragg

Sylvania, Ga. — Marie Martin Bragg, age 79, went home to be with the Lord on May 25th, 2018. 

She was born on November 23, 1938, and was the daughter of the late Virginia and Otis Martin of Nevils. Mrs. Bragg graduated from Southeast Bulloch High School in 1956 before working for the Bulloch and Screven County Boards of Education as a school bus driver. 

She enjoyed fishing, hunting, and growing vegetables in her garden and was a member of Greenhill Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by a brother, James Martin of Nevils.

She leaves behind a husband, Albert Bragg of Sylvania; two daughters, Connie (Lewis) Hodges and Selena Denmark; a son, Paul (Stacy) Davis; four grandchildren, Shannon Williams, Toshua Denmark, Michael Arnold and Matthew Davis; five great-grandchildren, Brittany (Joey) DeLoach, Brooke Herndon, Joseph Bryan Herndon Jr., Cameron Denmark and Breyona Bacon; and one great-great-granddaughter, Aubrey DeLoach, which makes five generations in the family. She also leaves behind five sisters, Faye (Daniel) Beasley of Hinesville; Wanda Guyette of Glennville; Ramona Burkhalter of Thunderbolt; Regina (Dennis) Burkhalter of Stark, Fla.; and Karen (Hank) Croft of Arizona; and a brother, Craig Martin of Nevils. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday from noon until 2 p.m. at Joiner Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro. The service will follow visitation at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will be at Deloach Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Cameron Denmark, Jamie Martin, Josh Martin, Matthew Davis and Joseph Herndon Jr.
