Leone Alderman Johnson, 96, was born August 8, 1921, and passed away August 6, 2018. She was the oldest child of Paul H. Johnson and Minnie B. Johnson. She was married to Dewitt Alderman, who passed away in 1971.
She worked until retirement as bookkeeper of Tilli’s in Statesboro.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dewitt and Carley Alderman of Cumming, Ga.,; and Donnie and Cissy Alderman of Vidalia, Ga.; sisters, Betty Bunch, Statesboro, Ga.; a special caregiving sister, Shirley Allen, Crystal River, Fla.; and Carrie (Dave) Welter, Augusta, Ga.; as well as several loving nieces and nephews.
In 1974, she married Abb Johnson and they were married 18 years until his death in 1992. Abb, along with bringing her love, joy and laughter, also gave her a loving and caring second family. They are daughters, Jency Bishop, Twin City; Jo Anna (Donald) Atkinson, Garfield; and son, Dan (Terri) Johnson, Twin City.
She loved them all as her own and they loved her and blessed her with wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored.
She was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church in Twin City and she loved her church family.
The family wishes to thank the staffs of Bethany the Oaks, Vidalia; Summer Willow, Nunez; and Meadows Park, Vidalia. We also wish to extend our unending gratitude to the staff of Community Hospice, Vidalia.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro. Interment will be in Eastside Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to El Bethel Baptist Church, 429 Abb Johnson Road, Twin City, GA 30471.
