A man faces DUI and other charges after a woman was critically injured Friday morning when he ran her over, police said.

Rebekah Erin Holt, 23, of White Hawthorne Drive in Savannah, suffered head injuries when a truck driven by Graden Tyler Bozeman, 22, of Columbus Drive, rolled over her head after she fell, according to Georgia State Patrol reports by Master Trooper Barry Riggs.

Bozeman was driving on Mike-Ann Drive near West Gentilly Road at about 2:25 a.m. Friday, while Holt ran alongside his vehicle, holding onto the passenger-side door in an attempt to make him stop, Riggs stated.

Holt had been a passenger in the vehicle, and there were three other passengers inside when she lost her footing and fell. Bozeman's truck tire ran over Holt's head, he said.

Holt was taken to East Georgia Regional Medical Center by Bulloch County EMS, but she was later flown to Savannah, according to reports. A GSP spokesperson said Monday there was no updated information on Holt's condition.

A woman answering the phone at Memorial University Medical Center confirmed Holt was in the intensive care unit, but declined to give details on her condition.

Bozeman, who reportedly left the scene after the accident but returned, is charged with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident (hit and run) and possession/use of a drug-related object.
