A car accident Sunday afternoon has taken the life of Virginia "Ginger" Deal, wife of former Bulloch County Commissioner Bobby Deal.
Mrs. Deal was on Williams Road turning onto Veteran’s Memorial Parkway when she was struck by a Winnebago. According to the report filed by Sergeant First Class Josh Lamb, Deal failed to yield the right-of-way as she entered the bypass. She died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Bobby Deal served two terms on the county commission from 1996 - 2004.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 – 8 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with funeral services taking place Wednesday, 3 p.m., at the Statesboro First United Methodist Church. The family requests that memorial contribution be made to First United.
