Representatives with the American Legion Dexter Allen Post 90 say Monday will offer cause to celebrate; and they hope the community will join them. The date marks Veterans Day throughout the country, and the American Legion plans to continue a more than decade-old tradition of honoring veterans and military families with its 2013 Veterans Day Community Observance Program. Festivities for the annual event — free to the public — will kick off at 10:30 a.m. inside the Emma Kelly Theater, at the Averitt Center for the Arts.
